Month in Review: February 2015

G'morning, readers. We've reached that day on the calendar. Here we have the fourth "month in review" which is set to chronicle some of the blog's content and various other random things. Today we're getting ready to turn the page on month two in 2015 much to my amazement. But, let's get this month in review started. First up the new finds (which are really lacking this month), then we'll discuss the blog's month and some of the content yet to come.

.......Favorites.......

1.) At the Box Office: There have been a few trailers that have appeared in this past month making me excited for some films this coming year. One of which is Henry Cavill's new film, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., which is inspired by/a re-make of the classic television show. Second is the teaser trailer for Frozen Fever (more Olaf cuteness!), which will show prior to Cinderella.

2.) Avengers, Age of Ultron: oh, yeah and all of the Avengers "official" character posters are releasing. Who cares if we've seen the concept time and again... bring on more Avenger awesome-ness!

Ooo, and have you read about all the possible superhero TV shows that are coming or are in the works? Netflix has two (Daredevil being one) and CBS is developing Supergirl. Oh, yes and Spider Man is set to be re-cast and reimagined so the character can enter the Marvel universe and the Avengers.

3.) Giveaway Winners: Okay, I realize this isn't a "new find," but I haven't been good about sharing the recent giveaway winners. Below are the list of recent giveaway winners - all of whom have claimed their prizes:

+ The Vow (Kindle):

Melanie
Kristie

Kindle Books sent/accepted by winners.

+ Sabotaged:

Loraine N.

Book was mailed this past Thursday.

+ How to Catch a Prince:

Kathryn V.

Book will be mailed to Katheryn later today.

+ An Uncertain Choice:

Amy C.

Since this book is not out yet (March 3rd), Amy's book will be mailed next week or soon after it arrives at my house.

4.) Good Witch Pilot (2015): This pilot was one of my anticipated shows of 2015. Despite some changes, it doesn't disappoint. Most of the cast is the same and I liked the emphasis the writing places on family.

5.) INSPY Awards Update: Tomorrow, the judging applications open. They'll run until the end of March. If you know bloggers who might be interested, please spread the word and of course, we welcome any support from you! If that means sharing on social media, thank you. If you're excited to apply for a second year as a judge, we welcome that.

6.) TV Shows: I've recently become addicted to more TV shows. This is all I need. But there you have it. Though I think I started Murdoch Mysteries in January, I didn't mention it, so I'm going to gush about it here. This show... it's awesome! It's set in the late 1800's Toronto and features a detective who is scientifically minded. The script is able to reference things that haven't happened yet and introduce a host of interesting historical figures (Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Nikola Tesla, Alexander Graham Bell, etc.). The scripts are fun because of that, and I love the relationships at the station house between the Catholic (in a prominently protestant region), bicycle-riding detective and constable George Crabtree and Dr. Julia Ogden. Aside from the back-and-forth romantic complications, one of my favorite episodes (so far) may be the "Alice in Wonderland" throwback.

 (My) Blog Favorites:

1.) 2015 Oscars (quick "recap" or no, I always enjoy the fun conversation with this annual post)
2.) Downton Abbey, Season Five (because who doesn't like to gush about this show!?)
3.) Not Another Happy Ending (because it's a cute, quirky romantic-comedy)
4.) Valentine's Day Fun (a post about random things of the rom-com sort)

 The week of February 20th - 27th

1.) Top Ten Tuesday: Favorite Heroines
2.) 2015 Oscars
3.) All of My Heart (2015)
4.) Bridal Wave (2015)
5.) The Vow, by Jody Hedlund

Silver Petticoat: I wrote more Downton Abbey (BTW, the last episode recap comes Monday! It's the season finale - and it's a good one) and The Flash recaps. You can find them over there if you are catching up. But, two of my favorite contributions this past month were spotlighting Jody Hedlund's An Uncertain Choice and writing an entry in Silver Petticoat's Classic Romantic Moment series. I chose to feature Austenland - seriously, that ending is one of the best romantic comedies have seen.

What's Coming: one more giveaway next week. I know I said that was going to be it for a while, but I forgot that I'd planned this and I already had half the giveaway prize. So... that means it had to be hosted.
