Insurgent Book Giveaway

Okay. So here's the thing. A week or so ago, I said there wouldn't be any more giveaways for a while. But, I'd forgotten that I'd planned this giveaway to coincide with the movie release of Insurgent. (Sidenote: since I'm not likely to get to see this in theaters, let me know what you all think of this one.) I've not read the books (my bad), but loved the Divergent film. (So much better than The Hunger Games. Sorry die-hard fans!) Today, I have a movie edition of the book to give away (because, it's epic - and it defies reality, so um, who wouldn't want it on their shelf?!) along with a fun necklace I picked up a while back that instantly reminded me of the original Insurgent book cover. True it's not an exact replica, but that's what came to mind when I saw it. You can enter as many or as few entries as you like into the Rafflecopter below. Before we get to that, here are the usual listing of RULES and the book's synopsis.

The giveaway(s) is open to U.S. readers. I do ask that anyone who leaves a comment under "anonymous," please leave the same name you enter into the widget in your comment - it's not nearly as easy to try and match comments when there is no name and in fairness to everyone else, I want to be able to be sure everyone who used the Rafflecopter correctly has a fair chance at winning against those who abuse it - believe it or not, there have been a couple people that I could not verify. So please, I don't mean to overwhelm, but just keep this in mind when entering future giveaways. I'd sure appreciate it! Winner(s) will have 48 hours to respond to the email notification before another winner is randomly chosen.

To be entered in the giveaway, just enter as much or as little as you like into the Rafflecopter widget... and good luck everyone! The giveaway ends on March 9th.

Book Synopsis: Insurgent is a 2012 science fiction young adult novel by American novelist Veronica Roth, the second book in the Divergent trilogy. As the sequel to the 2011 bestseller Divergent, it continues the story of Tris Prior and the dystopian post-apocalyptic version of Chicago. Following the events of the previous novel, a war now looms as conflict between the factions and their ideologies grows. While trying to save the people that she loves, Tris faces questions of grief, forgiveness, identity, loyalty, politics, and love. - Goodreads

    1. I definitely do want to read it, Shannon. I'm thinking I'll be able to get them read prior to this one coming to DVD, which will be great! Hope you ladies enjoy the movie - I'll look forward to knowing what you think. :)

    1. That silly random button! :) I never win anything, Raquel, so I know that feeling all too well. Best of luck - and I hope you can read this one soon.

  3. I loved Divergent (the movie)! Still haven't read any of the books yet...but Insurgent is the only one I don't own, so winning would be great :-) I doubt I'll see this in the theater, as I'm more of a "pay $1.50 for Redbox" kind of girl.

    1. I've not read any of the books either, Becky. But the movie, was SO good. Hey, nothing wrong with that! I'd like to see this one on the big screen, but I'm really the only dystopian movie viewer of my peeps, so I'll settle for buying the DVD when it comes out. :)

      Best of luck!

    1. I know, right?! I'm shocked myself because I really liked the film... and though I know its destined to break my heart (yes, I've read spoilers), I'm still excited to read the books and enjoy the rest of the films! This cover IS epic. I love the look of it, unrealistic or not. ;)

  9. I loved the movie, and the book. I think the book was still better, but was surprised at how well they did with the film adaption. Still love Hunger Games more, though. Ha! My favorite dystopian would have to be "The Giver". I think it's just because it was my first dystopian novel of all time. I'm also a huge Louis Lowery fan, and think she has an amazing gift when it comes to story telling.

    1. I'm glad to hear you liked the film as someone who read the book. I really liked the adaptation, so I'm eager to discover the books too. Nothing wrong with that... to be honest, I like the movies WAY more than the book in THG series. :) I read/watched The Giver and while I really liked it, I think that'll be one I'll like more a second time through. I read and watched it during a busy time, so I probably didn't get all of its nuances. :)

  10. I plan to see the movie this weekend. Loved the book!

  11. I didn't like Divergent that much either, Rissi (the book was WAY better). I watched Insurgent last Saturday, though...and am writing a review on it for a website. Loved the second film about 10 times better. I think you should give it a chance...like I did;)

    1. I actually did like the Divergent film (a lot), but haven't read the books yet. I'm glad you liked the sequel (film) so much! I will definitely be curious to watch it because many haven't been super positive about it. But then, I usually like what the masses don't. ;)
