Meet Bekah: the Taylor Swift Book Tag

by

For a good long while now, I’ve wanted to introduce you to some of my favorite bloggers in a series of “meet the blogger” type posts. I’ve become friends with some bloggers through various emails or conversations on our blogs, but I never had a good idea to “pitch” to said bloggers (all the really good ones were taken). This spring I finally forged ahead and got in touch with some bloggers, asking if they wanted to put together something they might be comfortable writing – i.e., a topic they wanted to talk about, a random fun and popular book tag. Because of that, this isn’t a traditional “meet and greet” blogger introduction. Rather, it’s blogging friends putting together something they enjoy, and hopefully because of that it reads like you’d be getting together and having coffee with them. That’s what – in my opinion, makes this such fun. Fortunately even without an organized “this-is-what-I-want” plan, they agreed to the invitation. Today, we are here to meet one such blogger.

If you haven’t met Bekah yet, be prepared to leave her blog with a sweet tooth. She’s the owner of Will Bake for Books, a unique book review site that combines two of her favorite things: books and baking! I had the pleasure of meeting Bekah recently in comparison to my time blogging and can honestly say, she is such a fun and lovely person to know. We’ve had many a conversation fan-girling over our favorite TV series (we share a lot of similarities here) and discussing books we may or may not have 100% agreed on – and the reasons why. She generously helped me with some blogging technical details, and she’s a kind and terrific source of encouragement. Bottom line, she’s been a fun blogger to call friend. Today, you can meet her through this fun Taylor Swift book tag she put together (I won’t lie, if someone didn’t snag this, I figured I’d have to put it together). Without further ado, let’s get started.

Meet Bekah: The Taylor Swift Book Tag, by Bekah

1. We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together – pick a book or series that you were pretty sure you were in love with, but then wanted to break up with.

allegiant

Easy, Allegiant by Veronica Roth. I fell in love with Divergent and Insurgent, recommended the series to practically everyone I knew, and even claimed it to be the best book/series ever- a pretty big thing since I have many, many favorites. Then the infamous conclusion to this beloved series RUINED EVERYTHING and I’m pretty sure I can never go back. Like, ever. Goodreads | Amazon

2. Red – pick a book with a RED cover.

Print

The Elite by Keira Cass. I remember falling in love with The Selection during my dystopian phase, but I still haven’t gotten to the continuing books. Love this gorgeous red cover. I picked this one over others because seriously these books should be the definition of cover candy. Am I right?! Goodreads | Amazon

3. The Best Day – pick a book that makes you feel nostalgic.

703292

The Witch of Blackbird Pond by Elizabeth George Speare. Surprisingly, I didn’t love reading growing up (more of an outdoors person, I guess…oh, how the times have changed) and this book was my first experience where I truly enjoyed a story. Plus the memory of my mom reading it aloud to me and my sister makes me smile every time. Goodreads | Amazon

4. Love Story – pick a book with forbidden love.

13574417

It doesn’t get more forbidden than human and alien, so I’m going to go with Alienated by Melissa Landers on this one! I heart this cover. And Aelyx. *wink* Goodreads | Amazon

5. I Knew You Were Trouble – pick a book with a bad character you couldn’t help but love.

17703150

This is a hard one because I don’t generally “like” bad characters, but I guess I would pick Mr. Macy from Born of Persuasion. I didn’t love him per say, but I was pretty enchanted by his charming character and couldn’t help but root for him and Julia sometimes…even after I realized he was, hopefully without spoiling anything, cray-cray. 6. Innocent – pick a book that someone ruined the ending for.

I’ve made it a habit to be the first in my group to read a book or series but sometimes there is just nothing you can do to avoid spoilers. That was the case with The Scarlet Pimpernel. I can’t remember if it was my older sister who told me the ending years before I actually read it or if it was someone else, but I already knew the big reveal. Still one of the my all-time favorite reads though! Goodreads | Amazon

7. Everything Has Changed – pick a character from a book who goes through extensive character development.

katniss-everdeen-kills-everything-video-movie-edit

Katniss from The Hunger Games series. Between the games and war, she probably has one of the biggest character changes I’ve ever read (kinda like Tris who goes through something similar). Goodreads | Amazon

8. You Belong With Me – pick your most anticipated book release.

bc891d7be9e88d6782a355435ba783e0

Hmm…I pick Shades of Doon by Carey Corp & Lorie Langdon. I really like how these books combine contemporary with fantasy. Loved the first book, really liked the second, and most eagerly anticipating this third one! Goodreads | Amazon

9. Forever and Always – pick your favorite book couple.

Again, so hard! There are just too many cute book couples. What comes to mind first is Ty and Celia from Meant to Be Mine. They are seriously adorbs. Goodreads | Amazon

10. Come Back, Be Here – pick the book you would least like to lend out, for fear of missing it too much.

The Fault in Our Stars by John Green. I pick it up every once in a while to re-read, so I wouldn’t want it gone for a long time! Because what if I need my Hazel/Augustus fix?? Hmmmm??? Goodreads | Amazon

    1. Thanks, Shannon! I had a TON of fun with this too and am planning on a few more posts introducing more blogging friends. It was great to put together and I'm thankful Bekah agreed to write up something. :)

    1. Thanks, Jamie! Had lots of fun with Bekah's post and hopefully, would like to introduce more in the future depending on if fellow blogging friends are willing to join in. :)

  1. Ha, what a fun idea. I totally agree with Bekah on Mr. Macy from "Born of Persuasion." I can't help but like him!

    1. He is quite charismatic isn't he, Lis!? I only read one book in the series but remembering being torn between halfway liking him and thinking him repulsive. ;)

  2. Bekah, thanks SO much for being willing to put something together for Dreaming Under the Same Moon. I appreciate all the support you show this blog, your willingness to fangirl over shared fandoms and your friendship. Cannot wait to see what else this year brings for your blog! :)

    1. Ditto, friend. :) It's just so cool how you put this together! Thank YOU for your friendship and support. Your intro was seriously too kind. Honestly, you're the sweetest! I'm really excited to see where this awesomely fun blog series goes and looking forward to many more fan-girling sessions with you, Rissi. :)

    2. Thank YOU for being willing to join in, Bekah. I appreciate it very much and loved that you put this together. Me too. Fangirl gushing for the win. :D

    1. Hi, Karen! Thanks for visiting and commenting. Bekah put this together so awesomely and I'm excited over the prospect to introduce other blogging friends soon. :)

  3. Loved The Witch of Blackbird Pond. Personally I also loved how Allengiant ended. I know kinda of weird but statistically with all of the dystopian heroines out there someone had too…. Ugh so hard to critic books sometimes without giving away spoilers.

    1. I've never read "Blackbird" but funnily enough after I got this from Bekah, I saw it somewhere else listed as someone else's favorite. Perhaps that's a sign. ;)

I'm glad you liked Allegiant's end. I haven't read the books (yet), but have read the spoiler and LOVED Divergent as an adaptation. Someday I do plan on reading the books. :)

  4. So, I'm SUPER late to the party, but I finally had a chance to come over and comment! I just love this new feature, Rissi and am looking forward to meeting new bloggers (and hopefully showing up here myself :) ). Of course, I already know Bekah, and am thrilled to see her on your blog. This is such a creative post, and I love some of the books mentioned here… namely Born of Persuasion and Hunger Games, fantastic books. :)

    1. You are NEVER late to the party, Cassie. Especially when it comes to meeting new bloggers. :) I had a lot of fun putting this together and am hoping I can do a few more at least, but it all depends on bloggers having the time (which believe me, I totally understand). Ditto! Hopefully you can join in soon (which would be fabulous!) and if not, again I totally get it. :)

Bekah did a great job with this TS Tag. I'm glad she chose it because otherwise I'd have HAD to put it together. Thanks for commenting. :)

    1. The idea? Absolutely! I had way too much fun putting this together. :)

…thank you so much for visiting and commenting, Olivia, visit anytime. Always fun to meet new bloggers.
