So about three years ago, a big-screen adaptation of The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones was made. It was pretty much a dud for avid fans of the book. I rented it and enjoyed it as a film adaptation (haven’t read the books) and thought the cast was good however it wasn’t a YA story I thought was exceptional. In the wake of that, ABC Family announced it was developing a TV series based on the books (by author Cassandra Clare) called, Shadowhunters. casting scoop: shadowhunters
In the past two weeks, a bunch of casting news has been announced and quite randomly, I thought I’d share that news.
CASTING SCOOP: SHADOWHUNTERS
CASTING SCOOP: SHADOWHUNTERS #FWarchives Click To TweetJace, played by Dominic Sherwood
Dominic’s most popular role was probably in Vampire Academy.
Fun fact: Dominic played Taylor Swift’s leading man in her recent music video for ‘Style.’
Clary, played by Katherine McNamara
Katherine has guested on Fox’s Touch and CBS’ Unforgettable, and will be seen in The Scorch Trials later this year.
Simon, played by Alberto Rosende
Simon was the one character I really liked in the film, so it’ll be interesting to see how his character works in the show.
That’s it for this random post. Do you have an opinion on this cast, show or the books? Comment down below if you’re curious about this one or if you liked the film.
I hadn't heard anything about this until the last couple weeks when I started seeing casting info going around twitter and pinterest. I hadn't read anything about it yet, but I am curious what ABC will do with it. The movie was actually more fun than the book in my opinion! So it'll be interesting to see what the show is like. :)
I liked the movie as you say, a fun evening of entertainment. That is why I am definitely curious about the TV show. It sounds like it could be entertaining plus I do usually enjoy ABC Family's shows. They're normally a cool, "young" epic sagas. This one seems to fit with that very well. Like you, I'm curious…! :)
I like the historical series (Infernal Devices) of hers much better than this one, but I did watch the movie. Jace never worked for me with the actor they had, so I think I actually like this one better. I'm curious how it'll go and how closely they'll follow the script. I mean it is all written out. Thanks for sharing!
I thought I remembered you liked the Infernal Devices series better, Tressa. Someday I might give those a shot – and of course I like the idea of a historical series better. :)
Yay! I'm glad you think this actor will be better. That's always a BIG plus. :)
