Top Ten Tuesday ǀ Book Quotes

Much as I love reading books, I confess, I don’t always notice the elegance that is book prose. I mean, sure I do notice it in a general overall sense of the book (believe me, I notice that), but I don’t always stop and enjoy the “small moments” in a book. Today’s Top Ten Tuesday challenges us to look at the quotes from book we have liked.

Top Ten Quotes I Loved From Books I Read In The Past Year Or So
(taken from my post topic from Freebie week)

In the past six months or so, I have become a little bit obsessed addicted *ahem* interested in making what is commonly referred to as quote cards. These can be anything the designer wishes. A simple quote spotlighted in your book review thanks to a block quote feature or maybe it’s more ornate with flourishes. Either way, the idea is fun. It not only adds more to your reading experience when you notice the amazingness of the writing, it also makes for a fun, additional hobby in the world of book blogging. (If you'd like to have a look see at the ones I've created, you can visit my IG page or find them on Pinterest.)

Here are just some of the book quotes I've liked. Fair warning: because I'm such a romantic, it's highly probable, the following quotes will celebrate the romance in the books I'm featuring.

#1. To Get to You by Joanne Bischof

One of my most favorite novels of 2015, there are lots of elegant and beautiful quotes like this if you pick this one up.

#2. Shades of Doon by Cary Corp and Lorie Langdon
This is not only a really sweet (and romantic) quote, it comes in a really great scene. *swoon*

#3. If I Stay by Gayle Forman

I was surprised by how well I enjoyed this novel once I finally read it.

#4. Barefoot Summer by Denise Hunter
This book is full of beautiful quotes like this and then some. Bravo, Denise.

BOOK REVIEW: Barefoot Summer by Denise Hunter

#5. The Start of Me and You by Emery Lord
All around this novel is elegantly written and told. It may have been my first by Emery, but it will not be my last.

BOOK REVIEW: The Start of Me and You by Emery Lord

#6. Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins

There are lots of witty quotes I could have pulled from this novel (which I did, yes, only *just* read this year), but I picked this one just because it's cute... and sadly, there's a ring of truth to it.

BOOK REVIEW: Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins

#7. Dear Mr. Knightley by Katherine Reay
Talking about this book enough is impossible. This book is beautiful on so many levels.

BOOK REVIEW: Dear Mr. Knightley by Katherine Reay

#8. Hello, Goodbye and Everything In-Between by Jennifer E. Smith
LOVED Jennifer's newest novel. Again, it was the first I'd read by this author, but masterfully crafted and felt more align with "new adult" than young.

BOOK REVIEW: Hello, Goodbye and Everything In-Between by Jennifer E. Smith

#9. While You're Awake by Amber Stokes
Another darling moment from the delightful Indie novella - with a fairytale twist.

BOOK REVIEW: While You're Awake by Amber Stokes

#10. Siren's Fury by Mary Weber
Epic fantasy series with an amazing author. Go read this series if you haven't.

  5. Joanne's writing is so beautiful. Sweet and poignant. :) I really need to finish reading To Get to You - I know it's going to be wonderful!

I loved Barefoot Summer - and that line is fab!

Oh my gosh, that line from Anna and the French Kiss is SO true! Even when you make it past the teen years. ;) *blushing*

Lovely line from Hello, Goodbye, and Everything in Between. I need to read the one, too! I have several of Jennifer's on my TBR - including the sequel novella to This Is What Happy Looks Like. Why have I waited this long to read it??

And I'm really excited you included a line from While You're Awake! Many thanks, friend!! :)

    1. Joanne's writing is indeed exquisite! (Stealing the word from Miranda's review.)

Me too - I think Barefoot Summer is still my favorite in that series from Denise.

You are so right; Anna knew what she was talking about with that line, right!? ;)

I ask myself that question as regards Jennifer's books all the time, Amber; why haven't I read her books!? I mean I finally read this one, her newest, but the rest sound amazing (I think I own most of them too, so no excuses!). Here's hoping we BOTH get to reading them all soon!

Loved including a line from While You're Awake. It's a great little story!

      Thank YOU for visiting. :)

  11. You have so many good quotes on your list! That first one really hit me. Also, I haven't read The Start of Me and You yet, but I did read Open Road Summer so I know how wonderful and truthful Emery Lord's writing is :) - Maggie @ macarons & paperbacks

    1. Thanks, Maggie! I enjoyed putting this one together, though I will confess I left off WAY too many additional amazing quotes. But then this post would go on for pages and pages had I continued. ;)

I'm glad you liked that first quote; the book is beautiful so if you have a chance to check out Joanne's writing, I recommend it. :) Also, I'm glad you liked Emery's debut. Her second novel is amazing and I've no doubt her first is equally so. Happy reading and thanks so much for visiting. :)
