Top Ten Tuesday ǀ Dear Santa

In the recent years, it’s become something of a tradition to write my bookish wishlist to Santa. This is inspired by the fabulous Top Ten Tuesday meme which is a weekly bookish meme. The day has again arrived that we are allowed to pen those letters to Santa thanks to said meme.

Top Ten Books I Wouldn't Mind Santa Leaving Under My Tree This Year

My list is quite varied this year and includes a few titles that technically aren’t available to own yet. But because of family members spending a good part of every month in Alaska and busy schedules, my family Christmases don’t happen until January. Fortunately, Santa quite understands this dilemma, and he allows this book nerd a kind of grace period.

With that said, let’s get this letter started. Dear Santa

#1. The Wrath and the Dawn by Renee Ahdieh

I've been eying this one for a long while and given how raved about its been this past year, I'm willing to see what it's all about.

Have you read it?

Amazon ǀ Goodreads

#2. Passenger by Alexandra Bracken

I’m not totally sold on this being a “me book,” but the premise is too intriguing to ignore plus there is time travel. So, yes, I simply had to add it to the list.

Amazon ǀ Goodreads

#3. Not by Sight by Kate Breslin

Kate's novels are well respected in the inspirational fiction community and I've heard nothing but rave reviews for this, her latest release. Plus the setting is WWI which is right in with the beginning of Downton Abbey, one of my TV obsessions.

#4. Velvet Undercover by Teri Brown

Aside from thinking the synopsis does sound good, I know next to nothing about this book. But I do love the "look" of it, which is quite good enough to earn it a spot on this list.

Amazon ǀ Goodreads

#5. Until the Dawn by Elizabeth Camden

Elizabeth is the one historical author who consistently proves her talent with each novel she puts out. Though I’m surprised I didn’t pick this one up, I’ve little doubt this novel would follow suit.

Amazon ǀ Goodreads

#6. Truthwitch by Susan Dennard

This novel is likely to show up quite a lot on my blog over the next couple weeks simply because its hype is making me super anxious to get my hands on it.

Amazon | Goodreads

#7. Secrets she Kept by Cathy Golhke

I’ve heard amazing things about this novel from bookish friends whose opinions I trust. Plus, Cathy is an amazing author.

Amazon | Goodreads

#8. The Conspiracy of Us by Maggie Hall
The cover is gorgeous which must mean the inside is too.

Amazon | Goodreads

#9. Undaunted Hope by Jody Hedlund
The final novel in Jody’s latest “Beacons of Hope” trilogy, I’m anxious to read this novel and see how everything shakes out. The teases we had of this in the middle novel didn’t bode the best, so I suspect much character growth has come of our protagonist.

Amazon | Goodreads

#10. Winter by Marissa Meyer

Though the truth of the matter is that I’ve yet to read any of the Lunar Chronicle books, I fully intend to remedy that – soon. This is reason enough to add this must-have (hulk of a) novel to my Christmas list.

That's my bookish Christmas list.

    1. Passenger intrigues me. I mean, there IS time travel involved which I always love so hopefully adding to that will be a dynamite plot. :)

Thank you for the return visit, Jess and kind words. Always have fun with Top Ten Tuesday fun. :)

    1. I have the rest minus the evil queen story, so with Winter, my Lunar quartet would be made complete and with it, no excuse NOT to read these books. :D

    1. Yay! I'm glad to hear that, Carrie. Sounds like both books are a must read then - or at least Kate's is. :) We'll both have to discover 'Dawn' in 2016.

  6. Oh, I should have put Winter (and Fairest) on my list. I've read the others, but I've been dragging my feet on these.

    1. I haven't read any of them (yet), Nicole. It's sort of embarrassing really, especially considering how hyped they are and that friends have recommended this series. Hopefully 2016 will be the year we can get through them all. :D

  8. The Wrath and the Dawn made my list this week too! And I would LOVE a copy of Passengers, but sadly it's not released until 5th January in the UK so unless I have a Christmas miracle I don't think I will be finding a copy of that under my tree on Christmas day.
I only read the Lunar Chronicles for the first time this October so there is no shame in coming late to the series, but you must read immediately! Because it is amazing!
I hope Santa brings you everything you want, merry Christmas! :)

    1. How fun! I'm looking forward to reading some if not all of these - and Passengers releases in January here as well. But since most of my family Christmases are late, I figured I'd add it to the wish list. :)

Thanks! I'm glad to hear I'm not the only late one to the Lunar Chronicles party. I'll hope to read them in 2016. :) :) :)

Merry Christmas to you as well. Hope you have a great holiday season!

  9. I could just adopt your list. I listened to 'The Conspiracy of Us' earlier this year and it was good on audio! Avery, the MC, bothered me, but I loved all the Bourne-esque drama. I'm excited for book two!

  10. I am SO excited for Truthwitch and Passenger! I can't wait for those ones :)
I've also been eyeing Wrath, it's gotten so many good reviews but whenever I read the description I'm like "eh, maybe next time". hahah

Here is my Top Ten Tuesday!

    1. YAY for Truthwitch and Passenger. Both promise to be amazing!

As for 'Wrath,' that's kind of been my reaction off and on too. But it's generally enjoyed fabulous reviews so I'm willing to give it a fair chance. :)

Thanks so much for visiting, Molly.

  11. I've been eyeing "The Wrath and the Dawn," too, but it's been out of my reach so far. I can't believe I did not have it on my Christmas wish-list my mom asked me to send her! Hope maybe you'll get it, Rissi. :-D
Oh, and though I've not gotten too far into Camden's newest book, so far it is aaamazzzing! But of course, it is Elizabeth Camden.
Hope your Christmas is merry, Rissi!

    1. I've heard great things about "Dawn," Grace, but I'm still not 100% sure it'll be a "me book." We shall see! Regardless of missing that one, I hope you found some of the other novels you had on your Christmas wish list, Grace. :)

And yay for Elizabeth Camden. I'm pleased to read it's good. :)

Hope you enjoyed a very merry holiday season, Grace - and happy New Year 2016!

  13. Very much yes to Wrath! It is SO, so good. And I am so curious about Truthwitch- whether the hype will be justified! I also need to read Passenger, fingers crossed that it is good! I LOVE the cover of The Conspiracy of Us too. I bought it and (can you even believe this?) it arrived without the dust jacket! I was so mad, I contacted the place, but they were jerks about it. I wanted it FOR the cover hahah. Anyway, I hope that Santa brings you all of your book wishes :D

    1. Thanks, Shannon. I'm glad to hear that about "Wrath" and I agree about Truthwitch. I don't know if it'll live up to the hype, but I'm hopeful for the same with Passenger. OhMyGosh! I'm so sorry about The Conspiracy of Us. That is not cool; I don't like having to deal with people who aren't reasonable so long as we are reasonable, it's nice to have the same curtsey extended.

Hope you found your wish list of books under your tree as well, Shannon. :)

    1. Merry (belated) Christmas to you as well, Bekah. I hope you and yours enjoyed a splendid day. :)

I'm beyond thrilled for the YA books you mention and Not by Sight sounds amazing.

I did have a chance to go to Alaska and it was amazing! We went in the fall which is much like the fall the Midwest enjoys - or it was when I visited, and of course, it's beautiful. I hope you can make a trip there. It's definitely a place I'd like to visit again. :)
