As a comic book nut, it was a given I’d tune in to see what the fuss for DC Comics’ small screen adaptation of Legends of
Tomorrow
was all about.

Before ten minutes pass, I’m already sold and what’s more, I feel like I’m stepping inside an episode of Doctor Who. In fact this so entertains, it reminds me how shameful it is that I’ve not returned to my journey through the BBC series with 11. But for today, this post is about “Legends.” I review this new CW show today over at Silver Petticoat. As usual, I invite you to check out my formal review and let me know what you think of Greg Berlanti’s latest. It’s a kind of sci-fi (and comic book) lovers ideal show.

If you missed the pilot, try and see it sometime. If you like CW’s The Flash or Arrow or CBS’ Supergirl, see this. What do all of these shows have in common (aside from DC Comics)? Greg Berlanti. Basically, just have a look at this show and discover what fun it is!

Legends of Tomorrow Season One Pilot: A Superhero Sci-Fi Adventure with Doctor Who Inspiration

Legends of Tomorrow, the latest superhero TV Series, started with a bang, proving that Greg Berlanti must be a genius. Seriously. As the “developer” (and producer) of two already successful DC Comics franchises (Arrow, The Flash) and a third climbing the rating charts (Supergirl), one might assume he’d kick back and perhaps take a breather. But no, that doesn’t seem to be in his wheelhouse. Thursday night saw him debut yet another comic book bit of brilliance. This one, a spin-off (primarily) of The Flash, cobbled together a team with many familiar faces while adding one particularly good bit of British talent.

Time Master, Captain Rip Hunter (Doctor Who’s Arthur Darvill) has one request of his Jedi like Time Lord council. He wishes to return to 2016 (from the futuristic year of 2166) in order to seek out and stop the villain known as Vandal Savage (Casper Crump). Savage has been wreaking havoc for centuries and Rip is ready to see his timeline stopped. First, in order to have any hope of stopping him, though a normally lone traveler, Rip needs to assemble a team. Continue Reading ➔

  1. I'm looking forward to watching this! As you said, who wouldn't want more Ray Palmer, plus, the time-travel aspect looks cool! As soon as I catch up with Arrow, I'll give this one a try!

    1. How fun. I hope you enjoy this one once you have opportunity to watch it, Birdie. Ray is just so darn cute. There isn't any other way to put it. Plus I do like Brandon in the role. Enjoy Arrow and "Legends." :)

  2. I totally missed this! We have watched The Flash so we'll probably like this one too. I need to see if we can catch it at some point. Thanks for the review!

    1. Fun! If you like The Flash (or Doctor Who), I think you'd really enjoy this one, Tressa. There are so many fun DW similarities plus the DC Comics universe remains intact. :)
