Giveaway | Sarah Sundin's Anchor in the Storm

Hello, happy readers! I'm finally reviewing the beautiful novel that is Sarah Sundin's Anchor in the Storm. (Seriously, GO read this if you like WWII fiction.) Since this review should have gone up early on in June (*insert embarrassed emoji*), I wanted to offer a little something more than a book review, so here I am again hosting a spur-of-the-moment giveaway. Plus, as we head into the Independence Day weekend, can you think of a better novel to spotlight than one that compliments the fight to preserve our freedoms?

BOOK REVIEW | Anchor in the Storm by Sarah Sundin

http://www.rissiwrites.com/2016/07/anchor-in-storm-by-sarah-sundin-wwii.html

Before we get to today's book giveaway stats (about the book, the pesky rules, etc.), I will say this. Come August there are going to be LOTS of fun giveaways around here. Why? Well it's a blogoversary and since I've never made a fuss about a Finding Wonderland "milestone," I thought its fifth year was as good as any excuse. That's just a little tease for you that I'll leave here.

ANCHOR IN THE STORM

For plucky Lillian Avery, America's entry into World War II means a chance to prove herself as a pharmacist in Boston. The challenges of her new job energize her. But society boy Ensign Archer Vandenberg's attentions only annoy--even if he "is" her brother's best friend.
Anchor in the Storm by Sarah Sundin
During the darkest days of the war, Arch's destroyer hunts German U-boats in vain as the submarines sink dozens of merchant ships along the East Coast. Still shaken by battles at sea, Arch notices his men also struggle with their nerves--and with drowsiness. Could there be a link to the large prescriptions for sedatives Lillian has filled? The two work together to answer that question, but can Arch ever earn Lillian's trust and affection?

Sarah Sundin brings World War II to life, offering readers an intense experience they won't soon forget. – Goodreads

  8. I am reading Escape to Freedom by Michael Phillips, which is the third book in The Secret of the Rose series. It takes place in Germany after WWII. The story is built around the division of East and West Berlin. It's a fascinating and thought-provoking story. I love this series, but it's not what you'd call an "easy read."

    1. Sounds like an excellent read, Kay; I've heard of Michael Phillips (and may even own one or two of his books), but didn't know he wrote WWII fiction. Or if I did I'd forgotten. Thanks for sharing! :)
