Giveaway | Beauty and the Beast

Good afternoon fellow fairy tale enthusiasts, readers and friends. Today is a fun day. Or I hope it is. Today, in anticipation of Beauty and the Beast, I'm celebrating its arrival with a little giveaway prize pack.

What does this prize pack entail, you ask? Well, to be honest, I don't know. Let me explain.

You see, I ordered a book only to discover upon its arrival, it wasn't what I thought it'd be. So, I went down the wide black, unknown hole (aka the Interwebs) in search of something more align with my idea. Long story short, I haven't received said book yet which means I haven't been able to take a photo. But here's an idea of what you'll get in a fun little package

Beauty and the Beast Giveaway Prizes

- Beauty and the Beast Themed Book (aka the book I ordered in replace of the first) OR
- a Melanie Dickerson Fairytale, The Princess Spy
- Small, dainty pair of earrings (unlisted) from Baubles, Beads and Stuff
- Beauty and the Beast Themed Bookmarks (1-2); where they'll come from, I'm not sure. They might be from my own printer (i.e., my random designs) or an Etsy shop. But they'll be in the package!
- Keychain Funko (Belle with Rose)

Plus, who knows, maybe they'll be one or two other small, but fun treasures tossed in. Keep an eye on this post or my Instagram because chances are, I will update with a photo of the prize pack asap (when I have all the items together). And since I a. have an extra copy and b. am going giveaway crazy, you can also enter to win a copy of another book! This is the perfect book for today's giveaway because, well, it does contain echoes of Beauty and the Beast, no matter their subtlety. Details below.

FOR LOVE AND HONORLady Sabine is harboring a skin blemish, one, that if revealed, could cause her to be branded as a witch, put her life in danger, and damage her chances of making a good marriage. After all, what nobleman would want to marry a woman so flawed?

Sir Bennet is returning home to protect his family from an imminent attack by neighboring lords who seek repayment of debts. Without fortune or means to pay those debts, Sir Bennet realizes his only option is to make a marriage match with a wealthy noblewoman. As a man of honor, he loathes the idea of courting a woman for her money, but with time running out for his family’s safety, what other choice does he have?

As Lady Sabine and Sir Bennet are thrust together under dangerous circumstances, will they both be able to learn to trust each other enough to share their deepest secrets? Or will those secrets ultimately lead to their demise? – Goodreads

  1. I love fairy tale retellings. They are one of my favorite reads. I don't think I'll ever get tired of them. For Love and Honor sounds really good too!

    1. Me too! They're among my favorite genres (in books and films). 'Honor' is a lovely story, definitely worth reading if you like YA historical. :)

  2. FAIRYTALES!!!! <3

My favourite Beauty & the Beast retelling is probably The Wulver's Rose by Hayden Wand (it's a free ebook that was originally a part of the Five Enchanted Roses anthology). My favourite fairytale retelling, overall...? (*glances at bookshelf*) (*glances at stack of fantasy movies*) Gaaah! I can't choose!

I'm currently reading When God Doesn't Fix It, a memoir by Laura Story; Scarlet Moon, a fantasy novel by S.D. Grimm; Bellanok, a contemporary fantasy novel by Ralene Burke; and a few others. :) My favourite YA historical novel is probably... Aaah! I can't choose one of those, either! Historical and fantasy/fairytale stories just make for my favourite books, in general. :)

    Have a wonderful weekend, Rissi!

    1. Oh, my goodness! I have Hayden's book on my Kindle app (I think...). That's one I need to add to my "must read" list since I anticipate really enjoying it. Actually I still need to read all of the 'Enchanted Roses' collection. All of them, I am sure, are great reads.

I can't choose a favorite either, Olivia. Can we just say they're ALL FAVORITES! :)

Sounds like you were/are reading lots of great stories. I read more than one book at a time too, and it's a problem. :D

Thanks so much for joining the fun.

  3. FIRST OFF: You rock Rissi! The fact that you are doing this is so fun and awesome! Plus I love Beauty and the Beast, so who am I kidding? The fact alone that this is related, makes my day.
I'm super excited to see this movie - whether in theater or in my living room - and I just saw the cartoon a few days ago and it always amazes me how beautiful the story is.
    Thanks for doing this Rissi!

    1. FUN! I haven't watched the animated film is YEARS, Kara. One of these days I should rewatch it as it is a beautiful story. Actually, I need to get this one on DVD since I only own the VHS and as it's a timeless story, it'd be worth having a copy of.

Hope you enjoy the live-action version when you see it. I plan to see it on Thursday (*fingers crossed*). Here's hoping it's as magical as we all want it to be.

Thank you for joining the fun! :)

  7. I love The Silent Songbird, The Little Mermaid retelling by Melanie Dickerson!! I'm also a fan of The Golden Braid, Rapunzel's story! I'm so digging all this retelling. I'm usually not, since I've read some bad ones in the past, but lately, they are soooo good, honestly need to thank Melanie for that!

I love historicals, and YA ones are just awesome too. There's a little bit of whimsy and simplicity in YA that I really enjoy.

    Thanks for a FABULOUS giveaway!!

    1. I've heard 'Songbird' is really good, Annie. Glad to know it's one to add to the eventual TBR - and of course, who doesn't like the idea of a 'Mermaid' (or Rapunzel!!) retelling?? :)

Well said. Simplicity in YA is a lovely thing. Especially in these fairy tale stories.

Thank you for joining the fun!
