Previewing Hallmark Channel’s 2017 Winterfest

Wednesday, January 4, 2017

On the heels of what has been a very successful “Countdown to Christmas” campaign, Hallmark Channel is wasting no time introducing new originals.

For the next three weeks, we have been invited to watch their “Winterfest” programming which consists of three original films. The first of these premieres this Saturday, and given its subject matter, it’s sure to be dripping in snowflakes, and glistening in winter fun. Below we take a look at the contemporary romances that are sure to enchant us as they beckon the romantic in us towards their magical winter wonderlands.

Previewing Hallmark Channel’s 2017 Winterfest

1. Love on Ice (Premieres January 7)

In Love on Ice, we meet a former figure skating champion who has turned to coaching as a way to hide from the world of competition, giving herself a second chance on the rink. Hallmark’s familiar leading man Andrew Walker co-stars with Julie Berman.

2. A Royal Winter (January 14)

Following in the successful footsteps of Hallmark’s other “royal” fairy tales (A Princess for Christmas or Crown for Christmas), this one involves an ordinary American girl falling for a British Prince Charming who actually does happen to be a prince.

3. Birthday Wish (January 21)

Jessy Schram stars as a woman disappointed her boyfriend hasn’t proposed by her 30th birthday. When she meets a nice guy who seems interested in her, she makes a birthday wish to see what her life is like ten years into the future.

Which of these are you looking forward to seeing? What has been your favorite Hallmark film of this past year? Comment down below with any comments you have. I look forward to chatting with you.

  1. I definitely want to see the first two. I haven't seen anything for the third I don't think. I'm looking forward to seeing "Love by the Book" again. I've wanted it on DVD but for some reason they haven't released it.

    1. I know what you mean, Livia. I'm anxious for some of the Hallmark's to appear on DVD too! I know they're releasing a bunch of last year's Valentine films this month, so I'm snatching all those, because, well, I'm a Hallmark movie junkie. ;)

Hope you enjoy these! They all sound so cute. :)

  2. I'm looking forward to all of these, but ESPECIALLY A Royal Winter! The commercial for it showed a view of Neuschwanstein castle, I believe, which is a "bucket list" place to visit, for me. I'm hoping we'll see it again in the film!

    1. How cool! It's always neat to spy familiar or "bucket list" places in films. (Plus Samantha Bond from 'Downton' stars in 'Winter' too!)

Seeing as it's a fairy tale, I am, naturally, most curious about A Royal Winter too. :)

  3. I just saw Love on Ice snd I really enjoyed it. Gotta love the Hallmark movies. :)

    1. I agree, Jess; Hallmark movies are always a happy place addiction at my house. Super glad to know you liked Love on Ice. I'm going to try and see it this weekend. :) Thanks so much for visiting!
