Month in Review | April 2017

Monday, May 1, 2017

SAY WHAT??? Where did the first four months of this year go? I haven’t a clue where time goes (Doctor Who, any insight?), but I’d sure like to know, and it’d be nice if it slows down. Just a little. But as I talk of this enough, let’s move on to the real purpose of today’s post.

Another month’s close means another “month in review” here on Finding Wonderland. Let’s take a look.

»Favorites from April 2017«

1. ‘Beauty and the Beast’ | Despite not listening to their music, who else loves John Legend and Ariana Grande's rendition of ‘Beauty and the Beast’? Or really the entire soundtrack. OK, so really, let's be honest: it's all about the fact that we can hear and watch a brooding Dan Stevens work those vocals!

2. Bookstagram Challenge | Tressa and I are (again) hosting another #WishfulWonder Bookstagram challenge. The fun begins today. All the details can be found in our introduction post.

3. Call the Midwife | I finally started the latest season of this British gem. It’s, as always, brilliant so far.

4. INSPYs | The Advisory Board spent the entire weekend working hard on the 2017 shortlists. We’re thrilled to say, we finally announced them on our website. Have you read the books that made the cut?

I’d also like to take a second to give the ladies I work with a shout-out. Rel, Kara, Lydia and Jamie, thank you for being awesome to work with. I admire and respect you all, and am again, thrilled we got to work with each other. Despite busy schedules and different continents (darn time zones! *smile*), nothing stops us from our bookish pursuit of this program.

 »Favorite Blog Posts«
(Blog posts that, while not necessarily the most popular, were fun to write)

1. Booktube Talk: The Disney Princess Tag | Because who doesn't love Disney?

2. Discussion | On Book Blogging and Monetization | Because I'd really like to write more discussion posts. What would you like to see a discussion on?

3. Good Witch: Season 3, Episode 1, 'A Budding Romance' | This show is magic in the best sense.

4. The Perfect Catch (2017) | Because I love Hallmark. And this was the favorite from April.

5. Scorpion, Season Two (2015) | LOVE (lovelove) this show. Starting season three now, and cannot wait to see what comes.

6. Sing (2016) | Pink pigs rocking out in a car to a popular pop song? Cuteness. Overload.

»Around the Interwebs«

Silver Petticoat:  Here’s a recap look at what I contributed to the amazing webzine, Silver Petticoat.

Articles and Lists | Along with the editors of Silver Petticoat, I previewed the spring 2017 Box Office and a spring 2017 YA Lit Book preview went live this past month. More recently I also spotlighted a "Romantic Moment" (or as is the case here - two!) from First Daughter. You can see it in the April 22 Romantic Moment feature on Silver Petticoat or find the links on Finding Wonderland!

Film and TV Reviews | I reviewed the brilliant (albeit slow-moving) ITV mystery series, Endeavour

TV Recaps | I finished recapping the beloved Hallmark Channel series, When Calls the Heart. If you want to catch up with the series or simply want a place to share all the feels, come by!

As always, thanks to the editors of Silver Petticoat and my fellow contributors! Working with you all is always fun.
That’s an end to the month here at #FindingWonderlandBlog. What was your bookish, blogging or life like this past month? Did you discover any new (and amazing) authors or reads?
