Can't Wait / Waiting on Wednesday | Fifth Edition

Wednesday, May 17, 2017

Hello, readers and followers! As we do every Tuesday with Top Ten Tuesday, this day, we're joining the "Waiting On" fun with Can't Wait Wednesday!

Back to today's bookish stuff. I'm linking up with my Bookstagram partner in crime, Tressa of Wishful Endings

Can't-Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted here to spotlight and talk about the books we're excited about that we have yet to read. Generally they're books that have yet to be released as well. It's based on Waiting on Wednesday, hosted by the fabulous Jill at Breaking the Spine. (Find out more here.)

For today's meme, we turn the spotlight on the upcoming novel, The Evaporation of Sofi Snow. This marks the first book in YA author Mary Weber's new duology. It sounds fierce, epic and plus, this cover!! What more is there to say?

Publisher: Thomas Nelson (HarperCollins)
Genre: Sci-Fi, Young Adult Fiction
Publication Date: June 6th 2017

Ever since the Delonese ice-planet arrived eleven years ago, Sofi's dreams have been vivid. Alien. In a system where Earth's corporations rule in place of governments and the humanoid race orbiting the moon are allies, her only constant has been her younger brother, Shilo. As an online gamer, Sofi battles behind the scenes of Earth's Fantasy Fighting arena where Shilo is forced to compete in a mix of real and virtual blood sport. But when a bomb takes out a quarter of the arena, Sofi's the only one who believes Shilo survived. She has dreams of him. And she's convinced he's been taken to the ice-planet.

Except no one but ambassadors are allowed there.

For Miguel, Earth's charming young playboy, the games are of a different sort. As Ambassador to the Delonese, his career has been built on trading secrets and seduction. Until the Fantasy Fight's bomb goes off. Now the tables have turned and he's a target for blackmail. The game is simple: Help the blackmailers, or lose more than anyone can fathom, or Earth can afford. - Goodreads

  1. I was just looking at this one yesterday while looking for space opera books. It's on my list as well. :)

  2. Love this cover design! I don't think I've read anything by Mary Weber yet. Here's my Can't-Wait pick:

    1. So do I, Heidi. It's so unique and had a great "look" of texture to it. Cannot wait to see it in person. :)
