Top Ten Tuesday | Dear Santa, All I Want for Christmas are These Ten Books

Here we are, arrived at less than a week left to Christmas. Today we’re writing to the Big Guy in Red.

Broke and Bookish December 19: Top Ten Books I Hope Santa Brings (If you celebrate a different Winter holiday, adapt this topic to fit it!)  – Broke and Bookish

Obviously, writing this letter is cutting things a little close. But because it IS to Santa, and well, Santa is Santa, I’ve a feeling, he’ll still see this wish list in plenty of time. I mean, he can fly around the world in one night, and with the ease of email or social media, I’m not worried.

Below, I’ve collected ten  eleven books I wouldn’t be sad if St. Nick discovered I would like, and left them under the tree. So, here is my wish list and of course, a letter to Santa! Let’s take a look, and get this letter started.

Dear Santa

This year for Christmas, my list is made up of one thing: books. All I want for Christmas this year are these ten books…

1. Because you Love to Hate Me (Novella Collection) | ordinarily I am not a villain girl, but this anthology intrigues me. Perhaps because of the collaborations. Either way, I wouldn’t mind reading it at some point. Amazon | Goodreads

2. A Dangerous Legacy by Elizabeth Camden | Up until about 72 hours ago, I did not own this one. But then I ran into a bookstore that's going out of business, and (despite a dwindling stock) as luck would have it, there this beauty stood. I'm including it because picking up the books I didn't own of Elizabeth's are always on my "must" lists! Amazon | Goodreads

3. God Bless the Broken Road by Jennifer Dornbush | The fact that this novel is being adapted as a motion picture is what, I think, really put its existence on my bookish radar. Amazon | Goodreads

4. Speak Easy, Speak Love by McKelle George | When not one but two of your blogger friend gush over this book (in the span of weeks), you sit up and take notice. Amendment spoiler alert: I totally already bought this week. Amazon | Goodreads

5. Worth the Wait by Laura Jackson | I believe I discovered this one thanks to an Amazon “window shopping” event. (A task I likely engage in a little too often.) Subsequently, I read about its story, and thus, it’s ended up on this list. Amazon | Goodreads

6. On Love’s Gentle Shores by Liz Johnson | Somehow, I let snagging a copy of this one slip through my fingers. But I have read and thoroughly enjoyed the first two books in this series. Needless to say, the third already owns a spot on my shelf. Amazon | Goodreads

7. Letters to the Lost by Brigid Kemmerer | I’ve been tempted to pick up this book countless times. Somehow or another, there always seems to be another book that ends up in the cart before this one. Amazon | Goodreads

8. Renegades by Marissa Meyer | Not sure this will be a “me book,” but I love how it sounds, am an avid fan of superheroes and I do want to give a novel written by Marissa Meyer a chance. But on the other side, this book is 500+ pages, and wimp that I am, that freaks me out. Any you-must-read-this vibes would be appreciated. Amazon | Goodreads

9. An Enchantment of Ravens by Margaret Rogerson | This is yet another I’m not sure would be my cup of tea. That said, the cover is beautiful, and the story does sound fascinating. Amazon | Goodreads

10. Split Second by Kasie West | I had this one on my #TBTBSecretSanta Wish List, and was kindly sent it by my Santa!! Thanks so much, J!! Another book checked off that book wish list. Amazon | Goodreads

11. A Name Unknown by Roseanna M. White | This beauty received RAVE reviews this past year. Alas, it's not one I've read. Amazon | Goodreads

Tell me all about the books you asked Santa for this year! Did you have an easy time making that list? Did some of the books you added surprise you? (Were you like me, and “embarrassed” not to have read some of your books – because you were so excited about them at their release.) Let’s get our bookworm chatter on! Comment down below with any bookish thoughts.

As always, make sure you leave your Top Ten Tuesday meme links. It may take me the entire week to do so, but I’ll be glad to come by and visit your posts and blogs!

Thank you for visiting Finding Wonderland

    1. I'm so glad, Amanda! I have zero doubt Elizabeth's would be (because I've read her books before), and sense Roseanna's is lovely (so many readers have been raving about this very thing).

      Kasie's are always fun! :)

Thanks so much, as always, for visiting.

  2. Split Second is one I'd like to read, I remember that one but never got to it. Renegades sounds fun, and so does the villains' anthology. I've had my eye on that one too...

    1. I've not read either one of the books in this duo, Greg. But since I do enjoy Kasie's contemporaries, I thought this series was worth a look. :)

      Thanks so much for visiting!

    1. The books I've read by Elizabeth are historical fiction magic! I don't think I've read any by Roseanna, but I hear this new series is fabulous. :)

Happy reading, Brittaney; hope you discover some new ones under the tree. Thanks, as always, for making Finding Wonderland a Top Ten Tuesday stop.

  7. Wonderful list! I would love to see Renegades under my tree this year as well, though I totally understand your reservations. I've seen it in stores and that sucker is enormous. I don't actually get books for Christmas usually, so my list today is mostly jut wishful thinking. I hope Santa treats you well, though!

    1. Thank you - and I appreciate you stopping by. :)

Isn't Renegades a tiny bit intimidating!? It still freaks me out. My aunt used to gift me books every year (armed with a trusty list from moi), but the last couple years, any books I get on Christmas are usually my own choices (i.e., shopping for myself. :D)

  8. LETTERS TO THE LOST made my list too!!!! List twins!!! Also, I love Marissa Meyer books-- Renegades was not my fave (and it was a little too long as well), but I thought it was a fun read. If you haven't read HEARTLESS yet, I'd recommend that one over Renegades :) Happy Holidays!!

    1. YAY!! Fun to discover we're twinning with a books. :)

Ugh, Renegades just "freaks" me out - but then I freely admit I'm a wimp when it comes to lengthy books. I haven't yet read Heartless but I have it - it's SO pretty. :)

Merry Christmas, Michelle - and thanks so much for visiting!!

  9. I'd love to read Split Second as well! Curious to see how it compares to Kasie West's other books :) Renegades and An Enchantment of Ravens both sound so good too! Hope you'll find at least some of these under your Christmas tree Rissi! Happy Holidays!

    1. I'm the same, Lindsey. As I'm so used to Kasie writing in a happy-go-lucky kind of lighthearted capacity, seeing her tackle a "sci-fi" story sounds so interesting!!

Agree; both very different I'm sure, but Marissa's and 'Ravens' both intrigue.

Thank you - and Merry Christmas to you as well!! Hope your season is full of all things merry and bright. Appreciate you visiting, too!

  10. Great list! I'm hoping for Renegades, too, but I have to agree with you. The length of it is very daunting. A Name Unknown was such a wonderful book. Hope these books find their way to you! Merry Christmas!

  14. We got Renegades from the library and my daughter likes it so far. I will wait for her verdict....I didn't want to read Cinder but finally relented when my daughter insisted that I finish it that weekend!
Santa is bringing me the new Carrie Stuart Parks book. So excited about that one.

I love the images you made with the ornaments -- was that on Picmonkey? So cute!

Thank you! No, I actually designed these on a program I have on my computer. Always so fun. Appreciate you visiting, Dianna - thank you! :)

  17. A Name Unknown is one of my favorite Christian fiction books of the year! It's hefty and a little slow, but it was awesome! I have A Dangerous Legacy, but I haven't read it yet...also, Marissa Meyer is an author I'm looking forward to discovering in 2018!

Merry (late) Christmas and Happy New Year!
