Waiting on Wednesday | Seventeenth Edition

Waiting on Wednesday | Seventeenth Edition

Hello, readers and followers! Happy (almost) Wednesday. Welcome

It's another Wednesday in a new week, which means there's another weekly meme making the blogging rounds.

Today's feature is all about the books we're "Waiting On" with Can't Wait Wednesday. A meme Finding Wonderland occasionally takes part in.

Organized by the lovely Tressa of Wishful Endings, here's another edition of Can't Wait Wednesday.

Can't-Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted here to spotlight and talk about the books we're excited about that we have yet to read. Generally they're books that have yet to be released as well. It's based on Waiting on Wednesday, hosted by the fabulous Jill at Breaking the Spine. (Find out more here.)

Today, the spotlight turns to a release that way out on the horizon. But with the cover reveal this week, I couldn't help but share the adorableness that is this cover. I mean, seriously... how cute does this one look!? *inserts uncontrollable fangirling*

Beyond the outward appearance, of course, the novel itself sounds super sweet as well.

But back to the outside of the book. I love everything about the appearance of this book. From the title to the composition and design, this one sparkles with perfection. Also, since this cover was only just released this week, I hadn't known of this books existence until the last 48 hours. Now it's a picture perfect look that I wish I could add to my bookshelf tomorrow!

Jenn isn't (*sad face*) an author who's books I've read, but I do own two of her novels, so here's hoping before this 2019 release rolls around I discover her brand of YA contemporary!

SERIOUS MOONLIGHT
Author: Jenn Bennett  | Publisher: Simon Pulse
Genre: Fiction; Contemporary Fiction
Publication Date: April 2019

After an awkward first encounter, Birdie and Daniel are forced to work together in a Seattle hotel where a famous author leads a mysterious and secluded life in this romantic contemporary novel from the author of Alex, Approximately.

Mystery-book aficionado Birdie Lindberg has an overactive imagination. Raised in isolation and homeschooled by strict grandparents, she’s cultivated a whimsical fantasy life in which she plays the heroic detective and every stranger is a suspect. But her solitary world expands when she takes a job the summer before college, working the graveyard shift at a historic Seattle hotel.

In her new job, Birdie hopes to blossom from introverted dreamer to brave pioneer, and gregarious Daniel Aoki volunteers to be her guide. The hotel’s charismatic young van driver shares the same nocturnal shift and patronizes the waterfront Moonlight Diner where she waits for the early morning ferry after work. Daniel also shares her appetite for intrigue, and he’s stumbled upon a real-life mystery: a famous reclusive writer—never before seen in public—might be secretly meeting someone at the hotel.

To uncover the writer’s puzzling identity, Birdie must come out of her shell…discovering that most confounding mystery of all may be her growing feelings for the elusive riddle that is Daniel.   - Goodreads

  3. I do tend, I think, to read more contemporaries in the summer, for whatever reason? And I absolutely want this one just for the cover. It sounds good too, and I want to try this author.

Right!? Same here! I feel like I'm going to get this one solely based on the cover (though to be honest, I do think the story sounds amazing).
