‘Falling For You’: Charming Contemporary Romance At Its Best

by

THE STORY | Willow Bradford lives a charmed life. It’s a life she’s been happy in, but personal regrets follow her. On a sabbatical from her jet-setting career as a model, Willow enjoys being home in Washington unaware that her past is about to revisit her.

BOOK REVIEW | TRUE TO YOU BY BECKY WADE: A COMPLEX, EMOTIONAL ROMANCE BECOMES A LITERARY ‘WORK OF ART’

That past is in the form of the infuriatingly handsome Corbin Stewart. A former NFL player, Corbin has also found his way home again, and to her surprise, Willow finds he’s different. Once upon a time the two of them shared a whirlwind romance that was perfect, or so it seems.

Now, as both hearts heal from the past – and present, Willow must decide what’s more important; to follow her heart, or keep a promise.

FALLING FOR YOU BOOK REVIEW

REVIEW | As is the truth of each of her stories, the talent of Becky Wade’s pen never ceases to impress and entertain. The second novel in her recent (and ongoing) series, Falling for You is another gem to be valued. If there is a noticeable departure Falling for You takes from its predecessor (True to You), it’s that the emotional takeaway isn’t quite as complex. Nevertheless, this story is still lovely.

Sprinkled with mystery and romance, the story balances the two nicely, though if I’m being honest, I was mostly here for the romance. Those who aren’t romantic suspense fans need not fear, any mystery does not overpower anything. Beyond this, the story touches on many things. From the bonds between sisters to the pain of having to say goodbye to a loved one, this novel suffers no shortage of the emotion gamut. Each of which are issues that the author weaves together with fun insights, and dignity.

“Home was God. Home was the people He gave you to love while you were on this Earth.” – Becky Wade, Falling for You

The characters are likable, and as usual, the romance swoony. Willow’s a strong leading lady who is adept being alone, but also knows how to let someone else help. Her inner workings are more of a mystery, but in some small way, relatable. One portion of the novel explores Willow’s thoughts and fears, and in one aspect I relate to what she feels her persona must be. Something that’s also interesting to experience (how we relate to a character.) Then, there’s a noble hero, and of course, Willow’s sisters make an appearance. What’s so fun is the snippets we glimpse of youngest sister, Brit, whose story is next to release.

With its portrait of elegance, which perfectly captures the essence of Willow, Falling for You is sure to delight any fan of Becky Wade. Anyone who likes True to You (or any romance lite book alike it – such as Melissa Tagg or Denise Hunter) will want to pick up a copy of Falling for You with haste. Inside these pages there’s a story sure to charm for days.

It is both. And yes, I agree; BH always does a superb job with Becky's cover designs. Enjoy! :)

Thank YOU for reading, Courtney – and me too! This book is rom-com magic. :)

  2. To be honest, the main reason I'm excited about this book is because the hero is Corbin, meaning there is a possibility (however slight) that Gray and Dru make at least a small appearance.

  3. Rissi, I thoroughly enjoyed reading your review here! It's so wonderful to have such a wide variety of Christian writers to choose from… I always like to hear your perspective!

I'm so looking forward to the new Christmas book Becky Wade is a part of…. The Christmas Heirloom 4-in-1: Four Romance Novellas of Love through the Generations – By: Karen Witemeyer, Kristi Ann Hunter, Sarah Loudin Thomas, and Becky Wade. Do you think you will, by any chance, review that one when it comes out?

Thank you SO much for stopping by and reading. Always glad to chat with you, Net. :)

I've read about the Christmas novella collection, and am sure, like any of her books, it will be lovely. I haven't thought about whether or not I'll review it, but considering Becky Wade's name is on the cover, the likelihood of it showing up on Finding Wonderland as a review is high. :)

Appreciate all you do and thank you, again, for visiting!! :)
